The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow Chenes electrical engineering service offering.Cheme Electrical Engineers will be technical experts that have achieved subject matter expertise in one or more technical areas within Cheme to ensure implementation of best practices and excellence in project execution. Electrical Engineers are responsible for ensuring successful execution of deliverables and effective utilization of resources.The Electrical Engineer is a technical expert capable of:Medium Voltage DistributionLow Voltage DistributionMotor Control Center DesignCoordination StudiesFault Current AnalysisArc Flash StudiesGroundingVFDs and Motor ControlsFire Alarm, SecurityLighting Design (Industrial Applications)Explosive Environment Applications (dust and vapours)Ontario Electrical Code/NFPAPermitting ProcessThe duties of the successful candidate will consist of a combination of the following tasks:Understand each overall project.Coordinate with Mechanical and Architectural disciplines.Management of assigned team membersCoordination with international design offices on project workTechnical leadership on assigned projectsPeer review of engineering work Preparation of engineering calculationsDevelopment of engineering drawings (single lines, risers, layouts)Preparation of construction specifications, user requirements, functional specifications, and scope documentationCost estimatingDevelopment of templates and tools for discipline areaDevelopment of training materialsMaintenance of industry knowledge for discipline areaDelivery of training in technical lectures for junior staffTraining and mentorship of junior staffAttendance of factory acceptance testing and on-site coordination and execution of commissioning and validation activitiesTravel to client sites for site review and troubleshootingMinimum Required Education:Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized Canadian University.Professional Requirements:Authorized to practice by PEOCore Competencies:Electrical engineering skills with ~5-7 years of current work experience.Field experience is a strong asset.Management of projects, systems and the potential to manage staff, clients, money, and business relationships.The potential to supervision and lead a team.Training and development of junior staffProficiency in written and spoken English with the ability to communicate clearly with clients.Adept at dealing with clients and other people in a professional and courteous manner.Knowledge of common business practices and techniques such as quoting, preparation of requirements, marketing and sales.Use of Microsoft operating system and Microsoft Office Suite to navigate a server environment and prepare engineering documents. Valid drivers license and car.Knowledge of OHSA and the Green Book as it applies to construction in general and electrical construction specifically.
