As part of the translation team, you will be an essential contributing member by translating a variety of documents from English to French, reviewing the work of co-workers and working together to deliver documentation of the highest quality that customers of Sonovision have come to expect.Typical Duties Read through material in English, ascertains understanding of the meaning and context of that material, and convert it into French, making sure to preserve the original meaningConsult with subject matter experts and other colleagues in order to understand specialised concepts and translate them appropriatelyRefer to online translation tools for additional assistance with translationUse highly specialised translation software to encourage efficiency and consistencyAdhere to industry quality standards ensure that all completed work meets customer requirementsCross-reference specialized dictionaries and translation tools to check quality of translationProofread translated texts for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracyFollow up with internal team members to ensure translation meets their needsEdit content with an eye toward maintaining its original format (e.g. font and structure)Other duties as assignedRequired Skills & Experience Experience in translating technical documents from English to FrenchMust possess a university degree or college diploma, translation preferredMust have experience using computer-assisted translation software, Trados preferredStrong interpersonal and customer service skillsAptitude and interest to learn and developAssets Experience in the Aerospace or Defense Industryaccreditation with OTTIAQ or ATIO or another similar associationWhat we offer Competitive health, dental, and life insurance benefitsAn entrepreneurial environmentHybrid work 3 days in office 2 remoteProfit Sharing/BonusesEmployee Events3 weeks of vacation to startTraining and Development ProgramsSonovision Canada is committed to diversity and employment equity in the workplace.
