Position: Senior/Lead Data EngineerLocation: New Brunswick, CA (Remote)Duration: 6+ monthResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain data pipelines and orchestration workflows using Azure Synapse and Microsoft Fabric.Build, enhance, and support ETL processes for both on-premise data stores and enterprise data warehouses.Integrate, transform, and optimize structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources using Spark, PySpark, SQL, and native Azure tools.Contribute to the architecture and design of data lakehouse and warehouse solutions, leveraging Delta Lake, Azure Synapse, and Fabric Lakehouses.Perform monitoring, debugging, troubleshooting, and provide on-call production support for ETL pipelines.Participate in project planning, estimations, and code reviews as part of a collaborative Agile delivery team.Support environment, platform, and operational management for data and analytics platforms.QualificationsBachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.6+ years of experience supporting two or more DWH/ETL tools such as WhereScape RED, Data Manager, DataStage, Spark, or similar platforms.Strong experience with Azure Data Services, including Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, and Synapse Analytics.5+ years of experience designing on-premise and/or cloud data warehouses and data models.Working knowledge of CI/CD practices and version control systems (Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub).Controlled Goods eligibility and security clearance are required.Familiarity with IBM Cognos Suite is an asset.Core CompetenciesStrong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.Customer-focused, motivated to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement.Technically curious, process-oriented, and committed to continuous learning.Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Bonus / Nice to HaveExperience with Power BI.Microsoft certifications in Azure Synapse or Microsoft Fabric.
