Heavy Equipment MechanicProject XIII Inc has partnered with a leading residential and commercial construction firm. Our partner is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join their team. The location for this role is on-site at their Ottawa location. About the OpportunityThe ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical background, proficiency with various power and hand tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure all machinery operates safely and effectively, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. What You Will DoPerform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machineryDiagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and diagnostic toolsRepair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systemsConduct welding and fabrication work as needed for equipment repair or modificationUse hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete repairs accuratelyOperate heavy machinery for testing purposes after repairs to ensure proper functionQualificationsProven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with dealership or industrial repair background preferredStrong knowledge of Caterpillar, HVAC systems, automotive repair, and schematics interpretationExperience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and other heavy equipmentProficiency in welding, electrical troubleshooting, mechanical assembly, and use of hand tools and power toolsWho You AreYou are professional and experienced mechanic passionate about maintaining heavy machinery critical to operations across various industries. Salary Range$60,000 $90,000 based on experience.
