The Package Engineer/Coordinator will assist in the coordination, tracking, verification, and review of deliverables from our clients engineering consultants to ensure that design packages are prepared on time and accurately for inclusion into procurement and construction contracts. These efforts will support all on-site infrastructure development for the project.The Package Engineer/Coordinator must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, possess a positive and collaborative attitude, be an effective and efficient communicator, be able to deal efficiently with change, and have prior experience in EPCM / construction environments.The project will be using Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) techniques to plan for and manage the many construction scopes. The successful candidate will be required to understand AWP principles and be familiar with the protocols deployed to enable accurate engineering progress reporting.The role requires coordination and collaboration with many project team stakeholders, and the ability to compile, control, and organize large quantities of information and documentation, ultimately in support of accurate and timely documentation inclusion to both procurement and construction contracts.Specific tasks required of this position include:Liaise with engineering, procurement, and construction teams, both internal and external, to ensure accurate and timely delivery of documentation and information required for procurement and contract packagesMaintain detailed and up-to-date knowledge of project developmentsVerify document packages and documentation deliveries are on scheduleCompile and coordinate documentation for Construction Work Packages (CWPs) in alignment with project priorities, construction schedules, and consultant Engineering Work Packages (EWPs)Participate in the development and review of scopes of work (SoWs), procurement packages, deliverables, and other project documentationEnsure version control, consistent formatting, and accurate distribution of documents to relevant stakeholdersEnsure quality tracking of documentationTrack document versions and updates, ensuring alignment with project schedules and scope changesEnsure that the engineering work is completed and adequately reviewed by relevant stakeholders in line with the project budget and scheduleQualifications and experience:Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical) or sufficient EPCM / construction and engineering experienceTechnical diploma with extensive experience is an acceptable substitute to a bachelors degreeMinimum 10 years of progressive engineering, project management, and construction experience in the mining industry, preferably related to mine infrastructure and processing plantsDemonstrated leadership ability, a high level of energy, self-motivation, and strong organizational skillsExceptional attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced work environmentExcellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively and efficiently communicate with relevant project stakeholdersComputer skills with the ability to use word processing, presentation, scheduling, and spreadsheet applicationsThis role is a contract position, initially for a 12-month period and will be a remote / work-from-home position based in the Greater Toronto Area with frequent travel to consultant offices. Occasional travel to the project site in northern Manitoba and the clients head office in downtown Toronto, among other potential locations, will also be required, on an as-needed basis.
