Job Description

CDN is a full-service provider with expertise in E&I maintenance, renewables/solar, major projects, combustion & emissions reduction, and measurement. We are looking to hire a **Quality Assurance/Quality Control (****QA/QC) Specialist** based out of either our **Calgary or Edmonton Branch**. The QA Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of products, services, or processes within CDN. They develop and implement quality standards, policies, and procedures to improve overall performance and maintain regulatory compliance. As the QA Specialist, you serve as a key resource on quality issues, guiding and supporting cross-functional teams to identify, prevent, and resolve quality-related challenges. **Responsibilities:** - Perform QA/QC inspection and testing of fabricated systems and components following applicable design drawings, BOMs, client specifications, regulatory codes, and industry/trade best practice. - Only use current, approved versions of drawings/BOMs, design specifications, regulatory codes, and applicable CDN and/or client quality forms/documents. - Identify sub-standard workmanship, non-conformances, design/component discrepancies and other quality issues and report such immediately to manager (this applies to both finished product and work in progress). - Complete all required CDN and client QA/QC documentation (QC Checklists, Calibration Certificates, As-built Drawings, etc.) and forward complete QA/QC package to the manager. - Take comprehensive set of QC photos of finished product and forward these to the manager. - Consult the manager when unclear about any design/construction specification or quality policy/procedure. - Keep QA/QC work area clean and well organized (materials, tools, test equipment, QA/QC files, etc. - Ensure all test equipment is maintained in good working order and within certified calibration period if applicable. - Assist production personnel with fabrication duties as required. - Conduct all dealings with CDN personnel, clients, or suppliers in a respectful and professional manner. - Comply with the policies, processes and procedures of CDN''s QMS and HSE Programs. - Assist the manager as required with mentoring and training of production and QC personnel. - Other duties as assigned. **Job Requirements****:** - Journeyman certification or equivalent technical training/certification in electrical and/or instrumentation field. - Minimum 2 years experience in QA/QC testing inspection (preferably in construction and service for energy sector). - Proficiency in MS Office applications & Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam - Ability to read and interpret design drawings, technical specifications, and applicable codes/regulations. - Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills. - Strong working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code. **Our employment benefits include:** - Belonging to a strong, motivating team. - On-the-job training and a commitment to mentorship from invested, industry-leading professionals. - Competitive pay, benefits, and RRSP-matching program. - Generous vacation and flex days. - Opportunities for advancement. **At CDN, our employees are united by our four core values:** - Character. - Connection. - Drive. - Growth.
