Vice President, Investments and Analytics #209, 9644-54 Avenue Edmonton , AB T6E 5V1 Canada Position Overview Azmer Inc. is a privately held investment company with a strong portfolio of assets including public securities, industrial real estate properties, and a 210 employee online legal company (LawDepot.com). Working directly with the CEO, you will play a pivotable role by overseeing the investment and financial area of the company. This is a full-time permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week with opportunities in Edmonton, AB, or fully remote. Primary Responsibilities - Lead the development and execution of the company's investment strategy to support long term growth and value creation - Identify and assess high-impact investment opportunities that deliver strong, risk-adjusted returns - spanning equity investments, capital allocation, real estate acquisitions, and strategic digital growth initiatives - Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of financial analysts, accountants, and business professionals - Direct the design and execution of advanced financial models, reporting, and data analytics to inform strategic decision-making - Conduct investment due diligence and valuation assessments for a range of opportunities - Develop efficient, scalable investment and financial processes to support continued growth and operational excellence - Ensure the organization leverages modern financial technologies and analytics platforms to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency - Oversee portfolio performance analytics, leveraging data insights to optimize asset performance, track returns, and allocate capital - Develop and implement tactics to optimize cost structures, tax efficiency, cash flow, and financial fees - Work with Legal to structure deals, ensure compliance, and execute agreements - Collaborate with Human Resources on organizational design, role creation, and recruitment of team members - Set clear objectives to drive success, establish performance standards, regularly evaluate results, and conduct comprehensive performance management to ensure targets are achieved - Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and key external stakeholders - Monitor market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes to identify emerging risks and strategic opportunities Knowledge and Skill Requirements - Postsecondary education in Finance, Business, Data Analysis, Accounting, or other related programs - 10+ years of progressive experience in investment management, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), or data analysis - Proven success in identifying and managing complex investment portfolios with strong returns - Excellent ability in financial analysis, business valuation, KPI measurement, and statistics - Understanding of financial statements, accounting, and capital allocation - Strong proficiency with financial modeling, advanced analytics, and data tools - Ability to leverage AI, analytics software, SQL, and programming tools for data analysis - Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to organize material and thoughts - Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly summarize key messages - Very strong management and business acumen - Ability to learn new tools, software and processes - Selfmotivated, with a proactive drive to achieve results - High integrity, sound judgment, and a strong sense of accountability - Strong leadership and team development skills, with a track record of building highperforming teams - Efficient organization and time management abilities - Flexibility to address complex scenarios or demanding situations Why You Should Join the LawDepot Team - Comprehensive health and dental benefits, plus an additional Health Care Spending / Personal Spending Account - Great work life balance (37.5 hour work weeks, flexible schedules, ability to bank hours) - Continuous learning opportunities, including LinkedIn Learning subscriptions and training budgets - Company share plan - Free catered lunches for the entire office - Monthly social events for team members to enjoy (think axe throwing, rock climbing, board games, food trucks, trivia contests, and charitable activities) - Casual work environment - Personal offices for focused work and to have your individual space (plus collaborative workspaces for when you want to meet with the team) - Free and easily accessible parking - Southgate Mall, Whyte Ave, and Calgary Trail restaurants are only minutes away - Hybrid working arrangements for that balance between getting work done at home and engaging with others in the office Join one of the fastest growing companies in Canada!
