Assisting in Dental Procedures : Experience in assisting with a variety of dental procedures, such as fillings using our LightWalker laser, crowns (lab & CEREC), root canals, extractions, Invisalign and other orthodontic related treatments. Sterilization and Infection Control : Knowledge and experience in sterilizing dental instruments, setting up trays, and maintaining infection control protocols. X-ray Imaging : Experience in taking dental X-rays, including CBCT, Panoramic, iTero scans and intraoral pictures, in compliance with safety regulations. Maintain accurate patient records using our dental software (Oryx) training provided. Communication Skills : Experience in communicating effectively with patients, the doctors and all other team members, providing comfort during procedures, and explaining post-treatment care instructions. Assist in scheduling appointments and manage patient flow within the office. Support patients with a friendly demeanor to ensure their comfort during visits. Effective Time Management : Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy dental office setting while maintaining organization and efficiency. Professional Development : Participation in continuing education and training programs to stay updated on changes in dental practices, technologies, and infection control standards. Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Minimum of 2 years of dental assisting experience. Must be registered and licensed with the Alberta Dental Association and College (ADA&C). A current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid is typically required. Proficiency in dental terminology. Excels at staying organized and focused in a dynamic, high-traffic dental office with a large team and a steady stream of patients. Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients of all ages. Attention to Detail : Strong attention to detail, especially in preparing treatment areas, handling instruments, and recording patient information accurately.
