Job Description: The Contract Plant Operator will operate the facility safely and effectively while working collaboratively as part of the team in the SAGD facility. This role requires a Contract Plant Operator who is trained and proficient in the operation of one or more areas of the processing facility. The Contract Plant Operator will provide support in implementing business improvements by evaluating opportunities and challenging existing processes to achieve operational goals. Location: These opportunities could be at any of our three Oil Sands Operations sites. Work Environment: This is a full-time contract position. If working at Foster Creek, the shift is 12 hours per day, 7 days on, 7 days off, Wednesday to Tuesday, rotating days and nights. If working at Christina Lake or Sunrise, the shift is 12 hours per day, and 6 hours on the first and last day; 8 days on, 6 days off, Tuesday to Tuesday, rotating days and nights. Christina Lake, Foster Creek and Sunrise all have full-service camp facilities. Depending on your place of residence and your shift rotation, bus and/or air transportation to/from site is offered from designated departure points in select locations. Our Oil Sands facilities are serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and Edmonton. Accountabilities & Responsibilities: Maintain and troubleshoot all area-specific equipment to optimize performance to meet production targets as per the facility guidelines. Perform condition monitoring including sampling and testing per area responsibilities, documented and act on results. Operational rounds including electronic Log entry of operator actions taken during the shift Provide assistance, mentoring, on-the-job training, and assessments to new employees as required. Support maintenance schedule by preparing equipment for planned work using the LOTO procedure. Perform walkarounds, participate in informal LOTO and HSE safety audits. Complete housekeeping activities, document, and take corrective action as required; conduct handover meetings with the outgoing/incoming area Plant Operator. Qualifications: Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements: Legally authorized to work in Canada Minimum of 1 year operating experience, relevant industry experience would be an asset Education/Certification: Minimum Fourth Class Power Engineering Certificate; Third Class Power Engineering Certificate is preferred
