Sourcing Specialist - 12-month contractMississauga, ON $46 per hour | 3 Days per week in officeA well-known Canadian business is seeking an experienced Sourcing Specialist to join their team during an exciting phase of departmental transformation. This role provides an excellent opportunity for procurement professionals to lead strategic sourcing initiatives while actively contributing to the modernization and evolution of the procurement function. Our client is looking for forward-thinking individuals who are eager to help build a best-in-class sourcing environment.Key Responsibilities:Partner with internal teams to understand business priorities and long-term goals, providing expert guidance as the organization transitions toward more agile and modern procurement practices.Develop and implement sourcing strategies that not only optimize cost and supplier performance but also align with the departments new vision for operational excellence.Manage all stages of competitive sourcing activities, including preparing RFPs/RFQs, evaluating proposals, and negotiating contracts with a focus on long-term value and innovation.Investigate and resolve supplier or contract issues, leveraging market insights to provide recommendations that support the client's continuous improvement journey.Maintain accurate records of sourcing activities and contracts, ensuring alignment with evolving company policies and industry best practices.Draft contracts and specialized clauses, coordinating closely with internal stakeholders to ensure legal and commercial robustness.Actively participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects designed to enhance sourcing effectiveness and digitize the organizations procurement workflows.Qualifications:Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.Minimum 4 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles within a corporate environment.Proven track record of managing end-to-end competitive sourcing processes (RFPs, RFQs, tenders).Ability to thrive in an evolving environment and a genuine interest in contributing to a 'transformation journey.'Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines while ensuring compliance and accuracy.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.These contract roles provide a collaborative environment, stable terms, and the chance to leave a lasting mark on a department that is actively raising the bar.If you are a results-driven sourcing professional who enjoys building and improving systems rather than just following them, our client would love to hear from you.
