Domain Architect Operational Technology (OT)Experience Required: 46+ Location - Toronto, ONDuration - 6 months contract with high possibility of extension Role OverviewThe Domain Architect Operational Technology (OT) plays a critical role in shaping the architecture, governance, and evolution of industrial and mining OT systems for operations in Vale Brasil and Vale Canada. This role leads the integration of traditional OT systems with modern technologies such as Industrial IoT, Cloud, Advanced Automation, and OT Cybersecurity, supporting Mining 4.0, sustainability, and digital transformation initiatives. Key ResponsibilitiesDefine, document, and govern OT architecture standards aligned with IT, Cloud, and industrial automation systemsDesign and support real-time control, monitoring, and automation solutions with high availability and resilienceLead OT modernization initiatives including edge/cloud integration, digital twins, predictive analytics, and automationImplement OT cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443, NIST), vulnerability management, and incident responseDrive collaboration between OT and IT teams for secure and scalable integrationsDevelop technical documentation, governance policies, and contingency plansSupport innovation strategies focused on sustainability and environmental impact reductionPartner with vendors and global stakeholders on OT solutionsTrain technical teams and promote OT safety and innovation culture Required Qualifications (Hard Skills)Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computing, Industrial Systems, or related fields8+ years of experience in OT architecture, engineering, or leadership roles (industrial or mining sector)Strong expertise in SCADA, DCS, PLCs, RTUs, IoT sensors, and industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, Profibus)Experience with OT/IT integration, edge computing, digital twins, predictive analytics, and industrial data platformsStrong knowledge of OT cybersecurity, IEC 62443, NIST, and operational continuityHands-on experience with Industrial Cloud platforms (Azure IoT, AWS IoT, Google Cloud)Knowledge of governance, compliance, sustainability, and ESG standardsFluent English and Advanced Portuguese (BrazilCanada collaboration) Soft SkillsStrong technical leadership and consultative mindsetAbility to influence across multicultural and cross-functional teamsStrategic thinking aligned with safety, sustainability, and business goalsExcellent communication and problem-solving skills Nice to HaveOT certifications (ISA/IEC 62443, CAP, Cybersecurity certifications)Experience with AI/ML and advanced analytics in industrial operationsPrevious experience in mining or Vale operationsGlobal project delivery experience Impact & DeliverablesSecure and scalable OT architecture governance across Brazil and CanadaLeadership in OT digital transformation initiativesImproved operational safety, resilience, and efficiencyGlobal enablement and knowledge sharing of OT best practices Interested candidates: Please apply or reach out for more information.
