Job Title Financial Crime Risk Investigator I - FIU Detection (4336) Work Location Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Hours 37.5 Line of Business Financial Crime Risk Management Pay Details $59,500 - $84,000 CAD (base salary; may vary based on skills, experience, location, and business needs) Job Description The AML Financial Crime Risk Investigator I builds and supports AML/BSA, Sanctions, and AntiBribery and Corruption (ABAC) compliance within a defined functional area or business unit. The role assists in implementing AML Operations initiatives and helps manage regulatory risk while maintaining compliance with evolving industry standards. Responsibilities Conduct analysis of priority alerts to ensure 30day SLA maintenance for priority streams. Review complex alerts, including Correspondent Banking and adhoc urgent referrals. Analyze transactional activity to identify risks, trends, and potential suspicious activity; determine whether further investigation is required. Support audit tasks, including gathering documentation and acting as a subject matter expert. Perform quality assurance reviews of colleagues work. Understand risk identification, analysis, and mitigation according to regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Serve as a process subject matter expert for technical processes and procedures. Partner with crossfunctional teams and external contacts as required. Prioritize and manage own workload to meet service and productivity requirements. Monitor emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements; assess potential impacts. Manage activities across multiple steps, systems, and jurisdictions, with weekly, monthly, or longer focus and adhoc responsibilities. Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and support operational improvement. Ensure due diligence supports transaction accuracy. Maintain indepth knowledge of products, services, processes, procedures, and systems within own specialty, characterized by moderate to high risk. Interact with internal colleagues and contacts, and provide process or policy guidance as needed. Participate fully as a team member and support a positive work environment. Act as a brand ambassador for your business area, function, and TD both internally and externally. Adhere to internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory guidelines. Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes aligned with risk appetite. Department Overview Global AntiMoney Laundering at TD focuses on detecting and deterring money crime worldwide. The program comprises Policy, Testing, Advisory, and Operations, building a professional community that supports compliance across four key functions. Job Requirements Undergraduate degree preferred. Two or more years of experience working within financial intelligence. Advanced knowledge of AML operations, standards, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations. Prior Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) experience (asset). Knowledge of TD's AML risk appetite (asset). Previous experience providing onboarding or training (asset). Ability to analyze, research, organize, and prioritize work meeting multiple deadlines. Skill in using computer applications, including MS Office. Ability to collaborate and build relationships. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal. Attention to detail. Prioritization and efficient time management. Hybrid Work Model Work activities include a blend of highly collaborative activities and individual deliverables. Colleagues are expected to be onsite 4 days a week, starting 3 November 2025.
