Core Responsibilities Compile and analyze financial information to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements on a timely basis Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures Prepare, review, and approve journal entries as needed for month and yearend close transactions Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations, resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities as needed Liaise with other departments to analyze financial results and forecast future expenditures Coordinate the preparation of monthly financial management reports, supporting schedules, and commentary for submission to stakeholders Present monthend results and variance analysis to management and stakeholders Assist and coordinate the interim and yearend audit process Monitor and support taxation issues to ensure compliance Support the tax team with worksheets for the filing of U.S. and Canadian income tax returns and tax audits as needed Develop and maintain financial databases Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations, and maintain solutions to business and financial problems Prepare technical accounting memos to assess the impact of new initiatives Work with other departments that supply information to finance, and assist with their related finance needs Reconcile and maintain intercompany transactions Provide supervision and mentorship of the Junior Accountant and other accountants Assist with adhoc tasks as required Qualifications Required: Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or active CPA candidate Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in industry Strong technical accounting knowledge (ASPE experience an asset) Advanced Excel, DAX, and Power BI skills Strong eye for detail and analytical abilities Strong work ethic with a proactive, selfmotivated approach Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fastpaced environment High integrity and professionalism; a model of honesty, openness, and transparency in every dimension of the role Preferred: Experience in retail or manufacturing environments Seniority level MidSenior level Employment type Fulltime Job function Accounting/Auditing and Finance We strive for a diverse company culture and are proud to be an equalopportunity employer.
