Join to apply for the Staff Accountant role at Freedom CNG. We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing team. Responsibilities Prepare and record journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and other adjustments, ensuring entries are supported by appropriate documentation. Track capital projects and fixed asset additions; ensure proper capitalization timing. Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules. Contribute to month-end and year-end close processes by preparing detailed schedules and financial reports, performing in-depth financial statement analysis and reconciling differences. Prepare supporting documentation and schedules and respond to auditor requests during audits. Assist in the filing of all required business returns and reporting (Tax, WC, Health). Support the preparation of financial statements and internal reports. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions. Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed. Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures. Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects and process improvements. Other duties as assigned. Experience & Qualifications Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA candidate or certification is a plus. 5+ years of accounting experience. Experience in a corporate accounting environment, with a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP. Legal and regulatory knowledge of applicable payroll accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software NetSuite preferred. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Strong ethics and integrity in handling confidential financial information.
