Job Description

Analyst Pricing Strategy (12month contract) Sobeys Report to the Pricing Strategy Manager as a member of the Category Management team. The role focuses on pricing analysis and execution to support the overall strategy of the assigned merchandise category. Key Responsibilities Maintain regular retail pricing strategy for the assigned category, including listing new items, executing pricing changes, and ensuring stores can sell items to customers. Collect, validate, and analyze competitive retail prices to supply the necessary data for pricing decisions. Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis aimed at improving financial results, processes, and overall business health. Maintain and review all costing and retail documentation to ensure integrity. Track pricing across assigned categories and recommend new retail prices to maintain margins or achieve index targets. Analyze business intelligence or governance reports (SAP, BW, Nielsen, etc.) to identify pricing opportunities. Run price optimization scenarios and offer suggestions to category management to maximize sales and profitability. Support stores by resolving pricing issues that impact stores, customers, and partners. Investigate pricing or audit issues that affect margins and implement corrective solutions. Collaborate on pricingrelated initiatives with category managers. Represent pricing in crossfunctional projects to improve pricing processes and execution. Qualifications Undergraduate degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or DEC with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Experience with SAP or mainframe analytical systems is preferred. Strong quantitative analysis skills in Excel (Pivot Tables, Sorting, Filtering, Lookups).
