Job Description

Intermediate Electrical CAD/Revit Operator The drafting team member position requires an increasing degree of independent decision-making and a high level of professionalism. As an Intermediate Electrical CAD/Revit Operator, you will play a crucial role in our drafting team, showcasing your expertise in electrical design and drafting. This position entails significant independent decision-making and requires a high level of professionalism. Prerequisites Relevant Experience: Experience in Building Electrical Systems Design is required. Intermediate: 5 years Requirements: A Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology (EDDT), or Engineering Design Technology (EDT), is preferred, and a diploma in Building Information Modelling Management is also highly desirable. Highly proficient and operating knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD is required for all essential functions and responsibilities of this position. Proficiency in BIM 360/ACC, Navisworks, Revizto, Fieldwire, and Bluebeam are essential. A strong working knowledge of MS Office is also required. Experience in the Building Systems industry as an EDDT or EDT is required. Additionally, you will coordinate and exercise functional authority to complete assigned projects while demonstrating increasing technical knowledge of drafting techniques and methods. A proven knowledge of Project Management is highly desirable. Strong communication skills are needed, as this position requires working as a team member interacting with internal clients. Typical Duties Complete red pen markups from site surveys, photos, and/or instructions from senior electrical engineers. Assist designers with drawing coordination reviews. Coordinate with other consultants. Ensure effective communication and coordination between all parties on assigned projects with limited supervision. Accountable for the quality of service on assigned projects. Occasional contact with clients, vendor representatives and project field personnel. Perform assignments with limited instruction regarding the results expected on unusual or complex problems. Keep the project manager informed of all circumstances that could affect projects or clients. Keep abreast of technological developments. Key Responsibilities Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated high proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, as well as BIM 360/ACC and Bluebeam. Perform assignments with limited instruction regarding the results expected on unusual or complex problems. Keep abreast of the latest technological developments within AutoCAD, REVIT and associated programs. Attend technical and professional society meetings and seminars. Report to the CAD/BIM manager if technical challenges arise, drawing standards, or software-related issues. Work Environment & Physical Demands Overtime may be necessary as workloads dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays. The job will generally be performed in an office environment but may require travel to and visits to a clients office, production facility, or industrial/construction job site.
