Overview As Senior Project Manager (Roofing Design), you will prepare specifications, produce design solutions, liaise with clients, contractors and manufacturers, and conduct technical reviews. You will manage multiple projects of varying scope, lead a small design team, and ensure timely, highquality deliverables. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. Core Requirements Postsecondary education and 810years of roofing and projectmanagement experience. Strong technical expertise; RROdesignated candidates particularly encouraged. Major Duties and Responsibilities Design Work Assemble, compile, and maintain electronic and hardcopy project files. Interpret and analyze data from fieldwork, design sketches, construction drawings, site photos, and mapping tools (Maps, Streetview, Google Earth). Create drawings or handsketch design solutions for Spec & Bid projects using new roof system predesign and related criteria. Review, markup, and correct design solutions prepared by others. Oversee and manage a 23 person design team to complete assigned projects. Assist with management of the Roofing Design department and project load. Prepare roofing specifications in IRC format, tender documents, addenda, change orders, workorder revisions, and closeout documents. Office Work Print, photocopy, assemble, and bind contract documents for bidding. Email or fax projectrelated correspondence to clients, suppliers, and contractors. Research and investigate products to meet special project requirements. Liaise with clients, product manufacturers or suppliers for technical assistance. Respond to queries from contractors during the bidding phase. Assist with preparation and distribution of project addenda and change orders. Clerical filing and maintenance of project binders, electronic files, and other records. Site Work Travel to and from project or client locations; located in Southwest Ontario. Assist in retrieval of site fieldwork data for roofs and other building envelope components (measurements, photography, sketching, surveying projections, identification of anomalies and deficiencies). Participate in design or project meetings with clients, architects, and other consultants. Required Experience, Education, and Certifications Completion of a degree or diploma in engineering or engineering technology. Possession of Professional Engineering stamps in Ontario and other provinces is considered an asset; minimum eligibility for PEO licensure or ability to obtain in near future. Minimum of 5+years of projectmanagement experience at an engineering consulting firm. Valid drivers license and reliable transportation. Required Skills and Abilities Proficiency in design and analysis tools (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong technical writing. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in calculations and data collection. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities. Selfmotivating and able to multitask. Demonstrated business integrity and professionalism. Physical Demands, Overtime and Travel Requirements Physical Demands Work is performed both in an office setting and at outside locations (industrial, construction, and residential sites). Frequently required to stand, walk on sloped and flat roofs, sit, climb ladders, bend, climb inside attics, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and drive a motor vehicle to client sites or job sites. Working at heights, including accessing buildings by ladders, swing stages, and mechanical lifts may be necessary. Up to 50lb may be lifted or moved. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary. Must be sharp, focused, and alert when conducting inspections, speaking, interacting with clients, preparing drawings, and drafting written reports. Overtime Some occasions require overtime or work beyond normal business hours to meet demands. Travel Up to 25% local area travel; occasional outofarea and overnight travel may be required.
