Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Automation Software Engineer to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in PLC programmingparticularly with Beckhoff TwinCAT 3and a track record of developing automation solutions for industrial applications. This role is handson, focusing on designing, programming, and optimizing automation systems to meet clientspecific requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop and program PLCs using Beckhoff TwinCAT 3, ensuring seamless integration with diverse hardware. Design and implement HMI interfaces for operator interaction and process control. Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to define requirements and deliver automation solutions. Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure optimal system performance. Create and maintain thorough documentation for system designs, programming, and testing. Travel to customer sites (US/Europe) for troubleshooting and commissioning as neededmust be eligible and able to travel immediately. Interpret electrical drawings and perform electrical troubleshooting. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Electrical/Software Engineering, Automation Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in automation engineering, with a focus on Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 programming. Proficiency in IEC 61131-3 programming languages (e.g., Structured Text). Experience with industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, Modbus, TCP/IP, and EthernetIP. Strong problemsolving skills; able to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills Familiarity with AIbased vision systems and robotics integration. Experience in designing and deploying custom automation equipment.
