OverviewJoin to apply for the Principal Engineer and Expert, Iron Ore Processing role at BBA Consultants. BBA is a well established private Canadian firm and provides specialized engineering services in the natural resources industry, including iron ore processing. Were currently seeking a senior engineer with extensive expertise in iron ore processing. The specific sectors of expertise were seeking include magnetic processes (low and high intensity), gravity separation (hydroclassifiers and spirals), concentrate drying and dewatering, flotation for production of high purity concentrates, bulk concentrate management, pelletizing, direct reduction processes and operational experience. At BBA, were proud to define and strive toward the mine of the future and green mining operations.ResponsibilitiesProvide metallurgical expertise for all aspects of projects and studies, including EPCM projectsServe as a discipline lead for studies and supervise the work of junior and intermediate engineersLead metallurgical tests and guide clients in developing their projectsPerform due diligence audits and manage preliminary economic, prefeasibility and feasibility studies within multidisciplinary project teamsPromote BBA expertise in the iron ore processing industryLiaise with clients on technical matters and professionally present reports, publications and briefingsDesign and simulate mineralogical processesExamine and approve mass balances, process design criteria, PFDs, P&IDs, layouts and technical specificationsLead and participate in market analyses for local and worldwide iron ore projectsPrepare, review and approve professional qualifications, expressions of interest as well as proposals and service offeringsTake on interdisciplinary technical challenges to ensure factory acceptance tests and the implementation of optimization solutions for processes are performed on time, safely and cost effectivelyReview, analyze or develop PFDs, P&IDs, technical specifications and evaluations, material balances and energy balances and process design and operating parametersAssess, select and commission new technology to improve the sustainability, efficiency and profitability of client operationsCorporate culture and qualitiesEntrepreneurial spiritResults-drivenThirst to learn and excelWillingness to work together while having funConstantly seeking sustainable and agile solutionsRigour and ethicalCertifications & Job RequirementsBachelors or graduate degree in mineral processing, metallurgy, chemical engineering or miningAt least 15 years of experience in mineral processing operationsStrong track record of successfully completing projects in the mining and metals industryQualified person as per CIM standardsAbility to travel frequently across Canada and abroad (> 25 %)Canadian Professional engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligible toBilingual (English and French)Total RewardAnnual base salary, based on 37.5 hours weekly, between $150 000 to $205 000Annual bonification program for all regular employeesOnsite mobility premiumAccess to a time bankCellphone ProgramGroup insurance plan starting day one including short term and long-term disability insurancePension PlanVacation and sick leavePremium offer through the Employee Referral ProgramBenefitsA corporate culture that values expertiseParticipation in innovation projectsFlexible schedule that combines office presence and telecommutingFriendly, eco-mindful and high-tech workspacesGrowing business with many opportunitiesGenerous pension and insurance planAbout BBAFor over 40 years, weve been pushing the boundaries of engineering to serve our clients in the Energy and Natural Resources sector.
