We also aim to promote employee health and wellness and provide opportunities for professional development.We believe in the power of diversity and strive each day to create a workplace where each individual is valued and respected for their contributions.We also believe that our employees are the reason we are accomplishing great things and are committed to supporting them through our many different programs.About the role:Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Supervisor, the Power Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of steam boilers in our plant environment.This is a full-time hourly position offering an attractive 4 on, 4 off schedule consisting of day shifts.The position is site-based at our operations in the Elk Valley, and the ability to reliably commute to or relocate near Sparwood, B.C is necessary.In this role you will:Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policiesMonitoring, operating and maintaining steam boilers and associated equipmentRebuilding pumps, changing fan motors, performing pump alignments and other repairsOther duties on site as required include filling in as a serviceperson, Lubeperson or Shop HelperCandidates with a Red Seal certification will have their skills utilized in other duties related to their trade as neededIn certain components of this role it is mandatory to wear a respirator which requires an interference free sealRequirements:High School Diploma or equivalentValid 4th class Power Engineering certification or higherValid class 5 drivers license, or equivalent, without learners restrictionsRed Seal trade certification in Millwright, Pipefitter/Steamfitter, or Welder would be considered an assetBenefits:Two Annual Performance BonusesTrades Retention BonusHealth Lifestyle AccountMedical, Dental, Vision CoverageRetirement PackageHourly Wage: $45.52Base earnings reflected in salary range includes the hourly wage plus applicable shift premiums and will differ depending on location.
