Head Waterfront Program Leader Lifeguard Vacancies: 1 existing vacancy Location: Vancouver, BC (see commitment section below) Work Model: Inperson work model Rate of Pay: $146.63 $149.81/day This is a contract position from approximately May August 2026. MAKING AN IMPACT The Camp Goodtimes program offers children and youth affected by cancer an unforgettable overnight summer camp experience in a medically supervised, safe and supportive environment. Since 1985, Camp Goodtimes has provided programming that gives joy, confidence, support and hope to children and their families. HEAD WATERFRONT PROGRAM LEADER The Head Waterfront Program Leader reports to the Camp Director and Program Director and oversees all waterfront operations at Camp Goodtimes. The role ensures safety and a positive experience for all campers, volunteers and staff on the waterfront. Responsibilities include maintaining BCCA and CCS standards for swimming and boating activities, managing waterfront staff, and delivering all waterfront programming. Commitment May 9, June 67: Training at Loon Lake Lodge and Retreat Centre, Maple Ridge, BC June 12, plus 2224: Precamp prep at the Canadian Cancer Society office in Vancouver, BC June 28 Aug 2, 2026: Onsite living at Loon Lake Lodge for 6 sessions (at least 24hrs off each week). Meals and accommodation included. Aug 8 27, 2026: Onsite living at Camp Pringle, Shawnigan Lake, BC (at least 24hrs off each week). Meals and accommodation included. What Youll Be Doing Implement waterfront program: review Camp Goodtimes waterfront policy and procedures; develop inclusive program plans with the Camper Experience Coordinator and Medical Coordinator; ensure policies and highrisk management standards are met. Assist with developing and delivering training for staff and volunteers. Ensure all participants, staff, volunteers and guests adhere to waterfront emergency procedures. Communicate with the Program Director regarding planning and scheduling. Train waterfront program leaders on emergency procedures. Supervise waterfront program leaders. Facilitate camperfocused swimming and boating activities. Assist in evening and allcamp programs when the waterfront is not in use. Contribute to a culture of diversity, inclusion, belonging and equity by ensuring all staff feel represented, valued and heard. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in aquatics, camping, youth recreation and/or experiential education. Strong supervision, communication and interpersonal skills. Thorough knowledge of waterfront safety, first aid and water rescue. Ability to mentor and coach lifeguards. Experience with populations having a range of accessibility needs. Initiativedriven, problemsolving, teamplayer. Understanding of cancer diagnosis and its impact or willingness to learn. National Lifeguard (NL) current within two years. Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor current within two years. Current Standard First Aid and CPRC. Pleasure Craft Operators Card. Lifesaving Instructor (LSI) an asset. Boating certification considered an asset. Criminal Record Search including vulnerable sector check (once hired). Proof of uptodate childhood immunizations. Proof of primary COVID19 vaccine series and booster within 12months of camp start. English required; French/Bilingualism an asset. Others may apply.
