We are currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. We are looking to welcome a fulltime Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Clappison Animal Hospital team. This is a great opportunity for an organized, motivated and empathic individual who loves animals and helping others! Over the past six years at Clappison Animal Hospital, Ive had the privilege of working with a tightknit, supportive team while building strong relationships with our patients and clients. Collaborating with pet owners to help care for their furry family members and working alongside our local cat and dog rescue has allowed me to continually develop both my technical and interpersonal skills. This growth has helped me become a more confident and valued member of the team as an RVT. Kristy Byron, RVT About The Role Have a Veterinary Technician Diploma Be registered with the OAVT and licensed to work in Ontario 2-3 years experience in a GP clinic with companion animals Experience with clinical procedures including but not limited to administering and performing diagnostic tests (diagnostic radiographs, blood collection, cytology, urinalysis etc.) using appropriate equipment and techniques, wound treatment and bandaging, blood pressure, catheter placement Experience with surgical preparation, assistance, anesthesia induction and monitoring, patient assessment and recovery Experience with dental procedures, including acquiring diagnostic dental radiographs, administering dental blocks, and all other aspects of a COHAT Willingness to continue enhancing technical skills Able to work in a steady and at times fast paced environment Strong interpersonal skills in working with colleagues and clients able to communicate with compassion and professionalism Able to keep accurate patient records in cloudbased database Candidate Qualities Energetic: Being enthusiastic and lively in one's approach to daily tasks and activities Punctual: Consistently on time or early for shifts and meetings, displaying a strong sense of time management and reliability Organized: Having a systematic and structured approach to tasks and responsibilities, maintaining order and efficiency Enthusiastic: Displaying a passionate and eager attitude towards the profession, your patients and clients, showing excitement and positivity in pursuing goals and interests One Team mentality: Eager to be part of a team and work collaboratively to service our clients and patients What We Offer Competitive compensation - $26-$30/hr (based on experience) Professional growth & development Friendly and supportive work environment Continuing education allowance + access to exclusive webinars and CE events Health and dental plus fantastic EAP, access to TELUS Health telemedicine & loads of other benefit perks RRSP package with matching Be part of the Oscar Fundhelp pets in need Amazing medical and pet supply discounts And much more!
