This goes for the emissionsfree Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.Role SummaryRivians Digital Technology Team is responsible for the endtoend implementation of the digital experience outside the vehicle (e.g. vehicle configuration, payment gateway, vehicle delivery management, service scheduling) across web, mobile app and instore. To that end, we are developing a worldclass commerce platform that will make learning about and purchasing electric adventure vehicles intuitive, seamless and fun. We are seeking a Software Engineer who will be developing largescale applications using the latest language features, frameworks and tooling. She/He will be building from the ground up with an obsession toward making these experiences memorable for the customers. This position will be located in Vancouver and report to our Sr. Manager, Software Engineering.ResponsibilitiesCreate clientside applications along the customer journey that range from managing financial transactions to scheduling vehicle deliveriesCollaborate with UX/UI designers and product designers to build user-friendly, immersive, reactive applicationsDevelop state of the art code with a keen eye on profiling, browser memory usage, load time of the appsConsistently write useful tests for all code developed, ensuring a high-quality bar is maintainedQualifications3+ years of relevant industry experience, with 1+ years of experience building large scale enterprise grade systems (Preferred)Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technology fieldExperience building distributed systems at scale which can handle millions of transactions/secondExperience with HTML5, CSS/SASS, Restful APIs, JSON, Javascript/Typescript, React or other JS framework experienceExperience with Java or Golang a plusExperience working with AWS, GCP or similar cloud platforms, and CDNs a plusExperience with Serverless or Container microservices architectures a plusExperience with GraphQL a plusGood understanding of caching, security and privacy principlesGood understanding of CI/CD pipelinesExcellent understanding of cross-browser cross-platform compatibility issues as well as the ability to debugComfortable navigating trade-offs to bring the right data structure and algorithms to the problemMeticulous around visibility of the systems you build - metrics, centralized logging, tracingDedicated to unit, integration testing and coverage - comfortable using tools of the trade on profiling, source controlExperience with Agile Development, SCRUM or a similar software development life cycle processPay DisclosureSalary Range: $86,200 - 107,800 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)Benefits SummaryRivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for fulltime employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26.
