Job Description Microchip is currently looking for a Verification Engineer to join our Communications Business Unit (CBU) in Burnaby, BC, Canada. The CBU is a premier supplier for 100Gbps+ optical networking & connectivity solutions for telecom & hyperscale data center networks. Our devices enable highbandwidth, cloudbased applications such as streaming services, social media platforms and video conferencing. The CBU Product Development team is engaged through the full device R&D cycle from concept, design and implementation stages. Once a prototype is available, we support embedded software development and system validation lab testing through to massmarket production release. We are an experienced chip team working with the latest semiconductor development tools and methodologies in advanced process technologies to develop stateoftheart network devices. As a Verification Engineer in the CBU Product Development team you will be responsible for verification of digital integrated circuits at the block level or top level of a device. You will collaborate with chip architects, subsystem leads and verification team members to deliver increasingly complex designs in a friendly, supportive and professional environment. The Role Of The Verification Engineer Includes Work within a team to verify designs at the block, subsystem or device level. Understanding the features of a device to ensure error free functionality. Planning and execution of tests under the mentorship of other team members. Develop verification components and testbenches in System Verilog (UVM). From time to time we offer the opportunity for Verification Engineers to perform prototype testing in a lab environment and software development for the devices they just verified. This experience helps the verifier to understand the design in a real world environment and give insight into system level operation. Requirements / Qualifications Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Excellent analytical and debugging skills and the ability to proactively solve issues. Proven ability to thrive on, learn and adapt to new methodologies and technologies. Strong coding skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Additional Assets To The Role Include Experience using one or more of System Verilog/Verilog/VHDL/System C. 1-2 related Coop terms in hardware/FPGA design or verification. Familiarity with communication protocols such as Ethernet, OTN and others (an asset). Experience with verification tools such as simulators, emulators and formal tools (an asset). Travel Time 0% - 25% Pay Range We offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry.
