Context As the Program Delivery Partner for Metrolinx, the MCS team a joint venture of Mace Comtech and Systra is delivering and developing Metrolinxs capability to manage mega programs. The Health & Safety Manager will support the delivery of the Health and Safety strategy as part of the overall Health and Safety Transformation initiative based in Toronto, Canada. Role: Health & Safety Manager Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities Collaborate with client teams to implement and maintain programs, systems, and procedures that transform HSW practices. Apply tools and techniques to define local strategies and methods to initiate and implement change that improves health and safety performance. Develop and deliver safety initiatives, from conception to implementation, in areas such as supply chain prequalification, supply chain engagement, risk management, and effective health and safety data management. Develop implementation plans and training materials. Advise the MCS Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing on strategic HSW matters. Support and drive a dynamic lesson learned and business improvement process for HSW across the program. Engage with client teams, providing health and safety leadership and credibility building lasting relationships. Support strategic health, safety, and welfare risk management. Profile / Skills Health & Safety related degree or equivalent with a professional designation certificate (CSRP or CMIOSH). 10+ years of experience in the construction industry. Digital savviness and ability to build lasting client relationships. Background in construction safety management or consultancy and ambition to grow a career. Competencies Required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to share a clear vision and inspire others. Positive attitude and enthusiasm. Technical knowledge and extensive experience in safety management systems. Experience in developing and embedding health, safety & wellbeing management systems. Working knowledge of health, safety & wellbeing policies, standards, legislation, and procedures. Experience in largescale program delivery. Extensive construction experience.
