Our dedicated employees are the cornerstone of our success, with safety and health prioritized.We are currently seeking Heavy Duty Trailer/Tractor Mechanics to join our team in Toronto, Ontario.Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, this role involves routine maintenance on our Tractor fleet.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform preventative maintenance checks and servicingComplete electrical, interior, air brake system, tire, body repairs, and welding as requiredFacilitate safety inspectionsRepair or replace equipment when appropriateAssess equipment to determine if it requires repair or needs to be sent outIdentify and report faults or malfunctions on all company equipmentCoordinate with maintenance staff and the terminal to prioritize repairsQualificationsRed Seal certification or apprenticeship at any level, or willingness to enroll in an apprenticeship programHigh school diploma with at least 2 years of experienceBasic set of hand toolsStrong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skillsWork ethic capable of working independently and in a teamExperience with a wide range of tools and familiarity with vehicle diagnostic equipmentExperience in preventative maintenance including electrical, interior, air brake, tire, and body repairsBenefits & PerksPart of Manitobas Largest Trucking Company35 Terminals across North AmericaCompetitive payComprehensive health benefitsCompany-matched pension planProfit-sharing programAt Gardewine, we promote diversity, inclusion, and a value-driven workplace.
