Job Overview This role is a critical driver of profitability and growth in a key product segment by developing sophisticated pricing plans, advanced analytics, and insights. The position leads pricing initiatives across functions, delivering strategic solutions while staying current with regulatory and industry developments. Job Responsibilities Develop and maintain rating structures and rates, inclusive of soliciting input from multiple areas of the company. Provide oversight of actuarial analysis of insurance rates, rating procedures, and rating plans. Prepare necessary regulatory filings, ensuring practices are consistent with accepted actuarial practice. Assist with implementation of approved refinements to current risk classification systems, pricing models, and ratemaking methodologies to meet objectives. Work with multiple areas of the company to identify profitable markets and design appropriate products. Remain up to date on current accepted and emerging methodologies in insurance pricing. Ensure procedures are in place to collect relevant data for pricing processes and verify availability, completeness, and accuracy. Monitor the companys portfolio for changes in mix, retentions, and profitability, and report to management. Maintain statistical databases necessary for product pricing and development. Ensure required regulatory reporting for pricing activity is carried out. Manage performance of direct reports, providing guidance and regular performance reviews. Play an active role in interpreting data and statistical studies in the pricing area. Develop and maintain relationships with regulators and professional associations. Perform other duties as assigned, handling special projects as directed by Vice President, Actuarial Pricing. Qualifications Undergraduate university degree in Actuarial Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics or related field. Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (asset). Extensive knowledge of current insurance pricing techniques. Extensive knowledge of the Property & Casualty insurance industry and general operations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with contextual understanding. Initiates action when needed and adapts to change effectively. Develops comprehensive plans bridging complex issues over time. Strong leadership skills with ability to develop and communicate vision.
