OverviewVita Community Child Care Centre Assistant Director Position The Vita Community Child Care Centre is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director. Closing Date: open until filled Hours: Term position until Feb 1, 2026 Full Time Salary: Dependent on qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is also available.Description: The Assistant Director is to work alongside the Director, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Vita Community Child Care Centre Inc. This includes, planning and implementing early childhood education programming and leading children in activities using all areas of development. It is the Assistant Directors responsibility to provide supervision, leadership and support to the centre caregivers, assist the Director with annual licensing and maintain a working knowledge of ELCC online. This role is responsible for creating monthly newsletters and calendars, assisting with scheduling/staffing and social media information. It is also asked that this position remain aware of current events from the MCCA and report to the Board of Directors monthly.Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day operations in collaboration with the Director.- Plan and implement early childhood education programming and activities spanning all development areas.- Supervise, lead and support centre caregivers; assist with annual licensing; maintain knowledge of ELCC online.- Create monthly newsletters and calendars; assist with scheduling, staffing and social media information.- Monitor current events from MCCA and report to the Board of Directors monthly.Qualifications and ExperienceEarly Childhood Education Diploma Level II or III in Management or equivalent combination of child care and managerial experiencePrevious experience working with children in a child care centre settingUp to date knowledge of licensing regulationsKnowledge of The Manitoba Employment Standards Act and Workplace Health and Safety ActDemonstrated leadership and supervisory skills with excellent listening, coaching, training and motivating skillsStrong problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skillsStrong work ethic with superior organizational and time management skillsAbility to communicate well in both written and oral EnglishComputer literacy (including Microsoft Office applications)Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information (both seen and heard)Current CPR training and First Aid CertificateClear child abuse record checkClear criminal record checkMust be in good health and fit to work in a child care centrePlease submit resume and cover letter via email: Attention Jean Cortez VCCCC Director thank all applicants; however only those applicants selected for an interview will be contacted. #J-18808-Ljbffr
