Your work environment at EXP We are seeking a skilled and proactive Project Engineer with a strong background in water and wastewater linear infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have handson experience in the design and coordination of watermains and sanitary sewers using both opencut and trenchless methods. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, project management, and field experience, with the ability to work independently under the guidance of senior engineers. What a day at EXP has in store for you Lead and support the design of watermain and sanitary sewer systems, including alignment, profile, and connection details. Prepare detailed design reports, drawings, and specifications in accordance with municipal and regulatory standards. Perform hydraulic modeling and analysis to support system design and optimization. Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and manage project deliverables, timelines, and budgets. Conduct site visits, inspections, and reviews of shop drawings to ensure design intent and quality standards are met. Facilitate and lead meetings with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams. Support proposal development, including scope definition, technical input, and cost estimation. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and environmental regulations. Provide technical guidance to junior staff and contribute to quality assurance processes. What your experience looks like Bachelors or masters degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in water resources modeling. Proficiency in industrystandard modeling software (e.g., HECRAS 2D, HECHMS, SWMM, MIKE, Info Works ICM). Strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles, floodplain management, and stormwater systems. Experience with GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS) and data integration. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility is preferred. Preferred Skills Familiarity with provincial and federal water management regulations. Experience working with municipalities, conservation authorities, or government agencies. Experience with climate change impact assessments and resiliency planning. Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (Python, MATLAB) for model enhancement.
