Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.Reporting to the Manager, Planning, Quality & System Performance, the Senior Analyst, Policy and Planning participates in the development of the strategic direction of Public Health by providing leadership in the areas of policy development, planning and accountability, provincial standards, best and promising practices, provincial Standard Operating Procedures and more broadly, evidence-based decision making. The Senior Analyst provides strategic analysis and advice for the advancement of defined priority areas according to Public Healths priorities and the identified strategic directions of Nova Scotia Health. This involves building new and fostering existing partnerships that support the achievement of priorities.The Senior Analyst, Policy & Planning leads work teams and manages projects to advance provincialPublic Healthpriority areas and assists in developing a strategic provincialoperationalplans, human resource and financial planning, monitoring systems and continuous quality improvement mechanisms.The Senior Analyst assists in designing a provincial integrated plan for developing strategic and operational plans that support excellence, PH priorities and goals. The Senior Analyst also brings a strong background in quality improvement to facilitate the development of a quality program for Public Health and supports continuous improvement to advance a vision of excellence. This position is provincial in nature; therefore, a balance of remote and onsite presence is required.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:Baccalaureate degree in public health, health promotion, community development, health administration or other relevant field3 years of relevant leadership experience and providing strategic, evidence-based decision support with progressive accountabilities for standards development, planning, and implementation, advising on healthy public policy, and adoption of best practices to deliver high quality services.Masters Degree in a health related discipline, health administration, business administration or related subject considered an assetEligible for registration with relevant health discipline/college or association is an assetCertification or additional training in Quality Improvement, Design Thinking, Process Mapping, IAP2, Project Management and/or Change Management an assetDemonstrated knowledge of public health systemExcellent leadership, organizational and decision skills.Experience in leading complex change.Expertise in healthy public policy processes, public health sciences, healthy equity, health promotion practice and non-communicable disease prevention.Evidence-based collaborative problem solving of complex multifaceted issues.About You ContinuedStrong presentation and public speaking skills that are responsive to audience needsCompetency in evidence-based practice and critical appraisalStrong analysis and synthesis skills to inform strategy development and organizational planningExpertise in financial planning and monitoringDemonstrated expertise in project management and knowledge of issue tracking, issue management and escalationKnowledge of quality improvement methodologies and approaches.
