Senior Accountant Branch Accounting Fix Network World is seeking a Senior Accountant to own fullcycle accounting for assigned branches. Location Burnaby, BC Reports To Controller Key Responsibilities Own fullcycle accounting for assigned branches, including reviewing and overseeing accounts payable and receivable activity, revenue recognition, accruals, and judgmentbased accounting entries. Perform bank, inventory, and balance sheet reconciliations and manage monthend, quarterend, and yearend close processes. Ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and compliant with internal policies and accounting standards. Serve as the primary owner of branchlevel P&L and balance sheet results. Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements for assigned locations. Lead variance analysis, identify trends and risks, and provide clear, actionable insights to operations and management. Partner with leadership to explain financial performance and support decisionmaking. Oversee preparation and filing of sales tax returns across multiple U.S. jurisdictions. Monitor regulatory changes and assess impacts on the business, recommending process or system updates as needed. Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, preparing schedules, documentation, and explanations. Oversee inventory reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to resolution. Analyze shrink, margins, and inventory adjustments, identifying root causes and improvement opportunities. Partner closely with operations to strengthen controls, ensure data accuracy, and improve branchlevel financial processes. Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls. Support system enhancements, new accounting procedures, and store openings or closures. Provide guidance and informal mentorship to junior accounting team members as needed. Lead ad hoc financial analysis and special projects. Support internal audits, control reviews, and compliance initiatives. Collaborate crossfunctionally with operations, tax, IT, and finance teams. Qualifications Diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance. 35 years of accounting experience, ideally in multientity or multilocation environments. Strong understanding of fullcycle accounting and monthend close. Proficient with accounting software (BC365 an asset) and Microsoft products, with emphasis on Excel. Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with various teams.
