Were small enough that every team member plays a critical role in our daily business, but large enough that the batteries we build are being deployed at significant scale in landmark clean energy projects around the world.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Supplier Development Engineer to join our team in Canada. The Supplier Development Engineer will be responsible for managing and developing our supplier base to ensure that they meet our quality standards, delivery expectations, and cost objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience working with suppliers in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of quality control, process improvement, and cost reduction methodologies.Responsiblities:Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of quality materials and componentsConduct supplier assessments and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards, manufacturing processes, and delivery expectationsImplement and maintain supplier performance metrics to measure supplier performance against quality, delivery, and cost objectivesWork with suppliers to improve quality and reduce defects through process improvement initiativesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure supplier performance aligns with company goals and objectivesImplement cost reduction initiatives with suppliers through negotiation, process improvement, and value engineeringEnsure compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements in supplier operationsContinuously monitor and evaluate supplier performance to identify areas for improvement and risk mitigationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or related fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience in supplier development, quality control, or process improvement in a manufacturing environmentStrong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teamsExperience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologiesKnowledge of quality assurance and control systems and tools, including statistical process control, root cause analysis, and corrective action planningAbility to travel to supplier locations as neededAdditional InformationIf the idea of working in a world-class team and helping the world transition to renewable energy is exciting to you.
