Job Description Fulltime associate starting at $18/hour. Must be able to travel and serve customers in northern communities in difficulttoreach markets. Our stores are located in the northernmost regions of Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Quebec, Nunavut and Northwest Territories. This role is part of a hardworking retail team that makes a difference serving customers in Northern Canada. The North West Company (NWC) has Northern and NorthMart stores in northern Canada, with retail opportunities for students to learn and grow over summer. Role & What We Provide Full time contract work in a northern community. Compensation & benefits: competitive wage ($18/hr) with overtime eligibility, food and accommodation allowance, and paid transportation to the store within the community. Training and growth: virtually and instore training to ensure you have the tools and training to do your job effectively and feel part of the team. Opportunity to learn from experienced managers and master a variety of tasks. Responsibilities Accountabilities: critical to the store team. Responsible for running cash lanes, merchandising, receiving and stocking shelves. Ensure appropriate merchandise is ordered and presented to maximize sales and profits. Exhibit high customer service and support to store management; over time, master a number of tasks critical to store operations. Flexibility: work in different locations and adapt to varying store sizes, conditions, skill levels, community engagement and competition. Qualifications Experience interacting with/serving customers in a fastpaced environment. Exceptional problemsolving, multitasking and decisionmaking skills with a high attention to detail. Proven organizational, planning and prioritizing skills. Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and superior customer service skills. Ability to adapt and take initiative to ensure the success of store operations. Physically able to lift heavy product unaided for the duration of each shift. Ability and desire to develop an indepth understanding of NWC's customers. Demonstrates a personal and enthusiastic commitment to NWC's vision, mission, values and strategies. Highly motivated and adventurous with an appreciation for smalltown life in a culturally diverse setting considered an asset.
