Your Opportunity We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Western Canadian Power Delivery team. As a technical leader, you will emphasize excellence, work closely with the design team, and provide the necessary technical leadership required to deliver projects that exceed client expectations. You will make critical contributions to the team as a champion of quality and continuous improvement. Your Key Responsibilities Design underground infrastructure for power utilities to meet project requirements. Develop design solutions that meet all applicable codes, standards and regulations. Lead technical design discussions, internally and externally, to ensure scope objectives are met. Review and authenticate drawings for power distribution projects. Provide construction support. Support development of proposals, project cost estimates and project schedules. Manage external client relationships through effective and proactive communication. Identify potential safety or environmental concerns and initiate appropriate action. Provide coaching, mentorship, and guidance to project team members. Provide technical guidance to customers, stakeholders, and external consultants. Travel and perform site visits as required. Your Capabilities and Credentials Registered as a P.Eng in Canada. Demonstrated technical proficiency in underground utility infrastructure design. Strong understanding of civil earthworks, grading and drainage designs and requirements. Effective Interpersonal Skills Strong written and verbal skills are vital to ensure clear communication between team members, clients, contractors, and suppliers. Able to work effectively both independently under minimal supervision, and collaboratively as a member of a team in a multidisciplinary environment. Strong time management and prioritization skills. Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to set priorities, organize work and complete work within given timelines. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Civil 3D. Valid Class 5 Drivers License. Education and Experience Bachelors degree in civil engineering. Current P.Eng in Canada is required. Minimum of 8 years of experience designing underground utility infrastructure within North America. Experience working with a Power utility would be an asset. BC Hydro experience strongly preferred. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for parttime roles will be prorated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
