Job Title Health Organizations Northern Regional Health Authority Location Thompson General Hospital - Thompson, MB R8N 0C8 CA (Primary) Job Type Standard Application Job Description Description: The Northern Health Region is currently seeking a 0.5 FTE (full time equivalent) Pediatrician to practice in a multidisciplinary environment in Thompson, Manitoba at the Thompson General Hospital. The Northern Health Region is geographically the largest of the five Regional Health Authorities in the province of Manitoba and has a population of 72,000 people spread over 396,000 km, resulting in a population density of 0.18 persons per km. Mining, hydro-electric development, forestry, commercial fishing, trapping, transportation and tourism are the major industries in the Region. Qualifications: Must be eligible for full licensure and in good standing with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba. Candidates with certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada are preferred. Compensation: Generous remuneration with guaranteed income through alternative funding. Practice Location: This position is located at the Thompson General Hospital in Thompson, Manitoba. The City of Thompson, known as the Hub of the North, is located 740 kilometers north of Winnipeg, and serves as the regional trade and service centre of Northern Manitoba. With a population of approximately 15,000 residents, Thompson boasts all of the amenities of an urban centre as well as the beauty of the surrounding lakes and Boreal Forest.
