Nch''ay Internship Program The Nch''ay Internship Program provides candidates (primarilybut not exclusivelystudents; see Eligibility below for more) with work experience, an opportunity to develop professional skills, and exposure to various industries such as Finance, Real Estate, IT, Communications and Forestry. We aim to match participants'' education, skills, and career interests with available opportunities at Nch''ay. What the Program Offers By joining the Nch''ay Internship Program you can expect to: Gain meaningful experiences to pursue a career at Nch''ay''s Head Office or at one of our operating businesses, Learn different aspects of our programs and services, Receive support from a peer network, Turn placements into permanent or long-term employment where possible, Receive mentorship and support from Senior Leadership, Have a streamlined hiring process to enable quick onboarding for internship applicants. About the Program We follow Nch''ay''s standard hiring and onboarding process for these positions. Roles will vary, with terms typically ranging from one (1) week to four (4) months. During your internship, you can expect to participate in: An orientation that incorporates cultural experiences with an Elder or Knowledge Keeper, Ongoing check-ins with your supervisor and bi-weekly intern group sessions, Mentorship with Nch''ay employees, access to a peer support network, and one-on-one support, A formal mid-way review with your supervisor, An end-of-term review with your supervisor and end-of-term exit interview. Eligibility The Nch''ay Internship Program is open to those who are: Living in British Columbia during the work term, and Recent high school graduates, students currently enrolled in a post-secondary institute or training program, individuals who have an interest in a specific industry or department, or individuals making a late career shift. Preference for placements will be given to the Squamish Nation community, followed by Indigenous applicants, and then the broader community.
