Job Description

Concrete Finisher We are currently seeking Concrete Finishers to work on concrete installation projects located in Edmonton. Duties include (but are not limited to): Place and finish concrete floors, driveways, sidewalks, curbs, bridge decks and other concrete structures Apply architectural, exposed, patterned, and stamped surfaces Level and smooth top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification Round edges and make joints / grooves to help control cracking Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement Operate power vibrators to compact concrete Impart desired finish (broomed / smooth) to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces Waterproof, damps proof and restore surfaces Place and finish concrete surfaces to project specifications Ensure freshly poured concrete surfaces are protected from constantly changing weather conditions (covered, heat & hoarded accordingly) Provide quality assurance/control for concrete pours Work with minimal supervision and direction Follow all safety and quality control procedures Participate in site safety meetings Required Skills: A minimum of 3 years of experience is required Experience with various flat work finishing is required Grouting experience is an asset Have knowledge how to properly use dry pack grouting and epoxy materials Proven expertise in how to perfectly cure concrete Understand how to use power/small tools such as plate tampers, carb saws, etc. Ability to work long hours (10+ hour days) outdoors in various weather conditions Physical able to perform heavy manual tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving heavy materials up to 50lbs Working understanding of site hazard assessments and able to complete daily safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner Be fit for duty and prepared for work each day Positive attitude / team player Strong communication / listening skills and ability to follow direction
