There is opportunity to engage in research and/or teaching positions with Dalhousie University, as well as, local simulation based opportunities, should that be of interest. HCR ED is approximately 40 minutes drive from the region''s tertiary care pediatric facility, the IWK Health Centre, and the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre. HCH services include: 24-hour emergency department inpatient care (28 hospital beds) long-term care facility (32 beds) surgery programs including general and orthopedic surgery several specialty clinics (including obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, hematology) mental health team On-call services are provided from Halifax and Kentville.
