Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, driven and quick thinking finance specialist to take on all aspects of running financial operations for a small studio. Reporting to the CEO, this position provides the necessary support to enable day to day bookkeeping and accounting requirements for Snowball Studios and its affiliated production subsidiary companies. The successful applicant should be able to operate with reasonable autonomy, though identify when direction is required and respond easily to new assignments. Duties & Responsibilities: Review and process financial transactions (e.g. accounts payable, journal entries, cash transfers, production funding, etc.) for all affiliated companies on a timely basis, while ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with internal policies and procedures Manage payroll including processing of timesheets in Intuit Quickbooks as well as processing and submission of all government remittances Manage weekly cash flow schedules for all associated companies Administer inter-company schedules and invoicing on a monthly basis Administer cost reporting schedules for domestic and affiliated companies including consolidated reports Perform all necessary account, bank and inter-company reconciliations Prepare all documents and forms related to regulatory requirements (i.e. HST, CRA, etc.) ensuring accuracy as well as timely submissions Prepare all financial-related documents for tax credit funding submissions and assist with tax credit filings Prepare files for transfer to auditor at year-end for Snowball and affiliated production companies Implement financial processes and policies in conjunction with CEO Other ad hoc duties, as assigned Key Competencies: Knowledge of film and television production and general accounting (candidates with this experience will be prioritized) Excellent Excel skills Expertise in small business accounting software, (Intuit QuickBooks) Familiarity with Sharepoint Knowledge of CAVCO and OMDC paperwork Day to day work activities are prioritized appropriately within work routines and scheduled with some guidance Excellent organization, time management, administrative and computer skills Excellent oral, written and communication skills Qualifications: Education: A Bachelor''s Degree or Diploma in Business (accounting emphasis) or related field of study Film/television accounting experience, or a suitable combination of formal education and experience.
