Position Overview We''re seeking an experienced Steel Estimator / Coordinator to join our growing fabrication team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment that delivers high-quality custom and structural steel projects. The successful candidate will support all phases of project delivery - from estimating and planning to coordination and execution. Key Responsibilities Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and bid documents for custom metal fabrication and structural steel projects. Prepare accurate material and labor take-offs and develop detailed cost estimates. Collaborate with project managers, designers, and shop supervisors to clarify project scope and ensure successful execution. Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical information. Track awarded projects, assist with scheduling, and coordinate fabrication timelines. Maintain and update estimating records, cost databases, and support process improvements. Perform site visits as needed to verify measurements or prepare field sketches for quotations. Qualifications 5-10 years of experience in estimating or coordinating within the steel fabrication or construction industry. Solid understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and shop drawings. Proficiency in reading and interpreting fabrication or structural drawings (AutoCAD experience is an asset). Strong organizational and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
