Join us today The OTR Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight and daily management of our over-the-road trucking operations. This leadership role ensures operational excellence, driver satisfaction, and profitability by managing dispatch teams, optimizing fleet performance, and maintaining strong customer and carrier relationships. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of dispatchers, driver managers, and logistics coordinators. Set clear performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Oversee staffing, training, scheduling, and day-to-day workflow for the OTR operations department. Develop and implement strategies to maximize fleet utilization, on-time delivery, and revenue per mile. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs): empty miles, fuel efficiency, driver turnover, detention time, and load acceptance rates. Optimize routing and scheduling processes to enhance service and reduce operational costs. Ensure seamless communication between dispatch, drivers, customers, and other internal departments. Analyze operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Oversee equipment (tractor/trailer) utilization, maintenance coordination, and replacement planning. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and carriers. Resolve escalated service issues and ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded. Support the sales team in customer presentations and responses related to OTR capabilities. QUALIFICATIONS: 3-5 years of experience as OTR Operations Manager Strong working knowledge of OTR PortPro TMS system knowledge is an asset Excellent listening and communication skills, verbally and written Positive attitude with proven people and leadership skills Must be willing to assist management in making decisions and effective changes for increased efficiency.
