Tiny Hoppers East Fairview Calgary is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for internal candidates to apply for the role of Executive Director. This leadership role is central to the success of our centre. The Executive Director will oversee daily operations, foster an enriching and inclusive environment for children, guide and inspire a dedicated team, liaise with families and community partners, and ensure compliance with all provincial regulations and licensing standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment for every child. In this role, you will also be responsible for shaping the centre''s policies and procedures in alignment with Tiny Hoppers'' values and goals. We''re seeking a dynamic and experienced leader who can work collaboratively with the Assistant Director, communicate transparently with stakeholders, and engage with both staff and families in a respectful and inclusive manner. Key Responsibilities: Ensure full compliance with Alberta''s early learning legislation and licensing requirements Oversee the daily operations of the child care centre Maintain a safe, welcoming, and emotionally supportive environment for children, staff, and families Lead, support, and evaluate staff to maintain a high standard of care and programming Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, community partners, and local authorities Act as a key resource for the Assistant Director in program implementation and curriculum oversight Facilitate open and effective communication with all stakeholders Promote a professional and positive workplace culture Lead staff meetings and professional development initiatives Be available outside regular hours for occasional evening meetings or events Financial Leadership: Oversee the centre''s budget and financial operations Ensure financial accountability and report to ownership or management Work with bookkeepers or finance teams to manage accounts payable, receivables, and reporting Secure funding and manage relationships with relevant agencies as needed Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience in a licensed early learning environment, ideally in a leadership role Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification and registration (or equivalent in Alberta) Post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial oversight, and reporting Experience managing teams, staff recruitment, and HR processes Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Competency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel Experience with licensing requirements in Alberta and familiarity with relevant government programs is a strong asset Background in unionized environments or collective agreements is an asset, though not required Required Documents: Vulnerable Sector Police Check Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certification Up-to-date health assessment and immunization records as per Alberta Child Care Licensing regulations Tiny Hoppers East Fairview Calgary is an equal opportunity employer.
