Responsibilities The Office of the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer has an exciting opportunity for a temporary full time exempt Records Management & Privacy Coordinator for approximately nine months. Reporting to the Corporate Officer, this role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the City''s Records and Privacy Management Program to shape the City''s information governance practices. Examples of key responsibilities include: Oversee the development and administration of the City''s Corporate Records and Privacy Management Program in accordance with legislation, bylaws, policies, and best practices Develop, implement, and update city-wide information governance policies and procedures Respond to access requests under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), ensuring compliance with all legislative and policy requirements Analyze and review records to determine what information may be released or withheld Assess sensitivity of records and mitigate risks Prepare third-party notifications, justifications for withholding information, fee estimates, and collects applicable revenues Respond to privacy inquiries and complaints Administrate and coordinate the completion of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) Conduct privacy breach investigations, when necessary Liaise with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner Provide privacy and FOI training to City staff, and Mayor and Council Liaise with North Vancouver Museum and Archives Supervise the Records Analyst Review departmental policies and procedures for compliance with FIPPA Provide advice and direction to staff as needed Conduct confidential research Requirements You will have a post-secondary education in records management, information governance, library and information studies, public administration, or a related field combined with and five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience (e.g., MAS, MLIS, CRM, CIPP). You also bring experience administering access (FOI) requests and interpreting FIPPA, preferably in a public-sector or municipal environment. You possess a strong understanding of records lifecycle management, classification systems, digital records practices, information systems, excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound independent judgment to carryout complex decision making. You also have experience supervising staff. During the recruitment process, applicants will be requested to provide a current Police Information Check (PIC). Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete standardized tests or exercises to demonstrate their applicable skills and knowledge. Compensation We offer an attractive remuneration and benefits package for this exempt position, including a compressed work schedule. The salary range is $92,712 to $109,056 annually. Salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity.
