Location: ALS Geochemistry, North Vancouver Reports to: Thunder Bay Branch Manager About the Position: As an HSE Administrator, you will work with the HSE function and operations in alignment with the ALS HSE Management System, by focusing on incident management, hazard identification and controls. As a key figure in our HSE program, the incumbent works to foster a culture of continuous improvement. Specific Responsibilities Assist operations by performing HSE administrative, clerical, and other duties as required. Facilitate new staff HSE orientation training and maintain database. Support HSE improvement KPI''s and PPI targets. Coordinate and participate in HSE meetings and the joint occupational health and safety committee, provide training to meeting participants. Assist in maintaining the ALS HSE Compliance Portal regarding incidents, investigations, reports, tracking, escalations, and follow-up. Assist in monitoring HSE training records. Organize and maintain first aid and spill team members and supplies. Assist in writing, maintaining, and deploying HSE programs and educational material. Assist with exposure monitoring protocols. Other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong organizational skills and follow-through on commitments and deadlines. Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Able to speak in public and present information to groups. Possess tact, diplomacy, and effective communication skills. Intermediate MS office skills are required. Strong understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality and discretion. Able to effectively handle escalations and time critical issues. Required Qualifications Completion of Grade 12. Minimum 1 year of office or administration experience required. Education or experience in Health, Safety and Environment would be an asset, but not required. Physical Demands Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities. Ability to wear PPE, go into labs and support HSE Items.
