Company Description The Town of Stony Plain is the local government authority responsible for planning and delivering municipal services in Stony Plain, a Canadian urban community of approximately 18,000 people on the traditional Indigenous lands of Treaty 6 peoples. Job Description The Town of Stony Plain Planning and Infrastructure department is currently recruiting for a casual Heavy Equipment Operator. Under the general direction of the Roads Foreman, this position will assist the crew with ice control and snow removal during the winter months. Qualifications The ideal candidate for this position will have a grade 12 education plus 3-5 years of related experience operating motor graders and heavy equipment. An Alberta Class 3 license with Q endorsement (Air Brakes) is required. Demonstrated experience with heavy equipment such as graders and loaders will aid in an incumbent''s success in this role. Operational requirements may include some weekends. Additional Information In accordance with the current International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 955 Collective Agreement, this position offers a competitive wage rate of $34.25 per hour. Conditions of employment include; C.S.A. steel-toed boots, a criminal records check, a valid Alberta driver''s license, and a satisfactory driver''s abstract.
