Pinchin is hiring an Electrical Designer to join our MEP Engineering team in Mississauga, Ontario. This position reports directly to the Director of MEP and is being filled as a replacement role. Role Overview As an Electrical Designer, you will support the design and coordination of building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, life safety, and communications. You will work closely with engineers, clients, and other team members to ensure compliance with standards and the successful execution of projects. Electrical Designers will report to the Director of MEP for Ontario and collaborate with project teams across the MEP group to support high-quality project delivery. Your Role and Action Assist in the design and drafting of electrical systems using software tools such as AutoCAD and Revit. Prepare and update electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers. Conduct site visits for field reviews, data collection, and existing system assessments. Support technical report development, load calculations, and cost estimates for a range of building types. Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to integrate electrical design elements. Support project execution and respond to technical queries from clients and contractors. Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and electrical code updates. Mentor junior staff and assist with their technical development. What You''ll Bring to Pinchin This role is ideal for a technically skilled individual who enjoys working on a variety of electrical design projects and supporting high-quality project delivery. A college diploma or university degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field. 5+ years of experience in building electrical system design, ideally in the consulting engineering environment. Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit and lighting/power calculation software is an asset. Solid understanding of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and relevant standards. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. A valid driver''s license and ability to travel to client sites across Ontario as required. Valid driver''s license with access to a reliable vehicle. Work-related travel is compensated.
