Description About Ocean Steel Incorporated in 1955, Ocean Steel services several markets, including Atlantic Canada, the Eastern United States, Bermuda and the Caribbean. Although they specialize in fabricating and erecting structural steel for buildings and bridges, they also manufacture and install platework, such as breechings, stacks, ducts, penstocks, process & storage tanks and custom process-equipment. OceanSteel''s two New Brunswick plants include the original location in Saint John, as well as the York Steel Plant in Fredericton, which was acquired by Ocean Steel in Responsibilities Providing assistance in paint shop by setting-up and removing steel beams for painters Load steel beams onto flatbed trucks in yard Use proper strapping techniques to secure load Assist with taping areas Use of overhead cranes Snow Removal in winter months Requirements Completion of high school Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours and work outside in all weather conditions Able to work night shifts Previous experience in a warehouse or shipping/receiving is an asset Own transportation Previous experience in structural steel fabrication shop considered an asset As a member of the OSCO Construction Group, Ocean Steel & Construction Ltd. offers a comprehensive compensation package beginning after completing forty-five (45) working shifts, including seniority with Shopmen''s Local Unit No.809, overtime hours worked paid at time & a half; double time on weekends, health and dental coverage, life insurance and RRSP options.
