Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Customs Officer to join our team. This role is essential in managing the clearance of goods through customs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and facilitating smooth international trade operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, experience in supply chain management, and familiarity with freight and account management processes. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on efficient logistics and customer satisfaction. Duties Review and process customs documentation accurately and efficiently using systems such as AS400. Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping companies, and customs authorities to facilitate timely clearance of shipments. Negotiate with customs officials and stakeholders to resolve issues related to import/export procedures. Manage customer relationships by providing updates on shipment status and resolving inquiries related to customs clearance. Maintain detailed records of all customs transactions, data entry, and compliance documentation. Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure seamless integration of customs processes within overall logistics operations. Support sales management efforts by providing expertise on import/export regulations affecting B2B sales and 3PL services. Assist in account management activities related to international clients and partners involved in freight forwarding and logistics. Qualifications Must have Completed the Customs Brokerage Professional Examination CBPE Proven experience in customs operations, freight management, or supply chain logistics. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems and data entry procedures. Knowledge of B2B sales processes, 3PL logistics, and inside sales strategies. Experience working with AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing complex documentation. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Prior experience in account management or sales management is a plus. This position is integral to maintaining compliance, optimizing logistics workflows, and enhancing customer satisfaction within our international trade operations.
