Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Customs Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the clearance of goods through customs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires strong negotiation skills, excellent customer relationship management, and familiarity with freight, supply chain processes, and account management. The Customs Officer will play a vital part in streamlining import/export operations, managing B2B sales, and maintaining accurate data entry within our logistics systems. Experience with 3PL providers, inside sales, and AS400 systems is highly desirable to support efficient customs procedures and supply chain management. Responsibilities Facilitate the clearance of shipments through customs by preparing and reviewing necessary documentation Negotiate with customs officials to expedite clearance processes while ensuring compliance with regulations Manage customer relationships by providing timely updates on shipment statuses and resolving any issues that arise Coordinate freight movements and liaise with 3PL providers to ensure smooth logistics operations Maintain accurate data entry related to customs declarations, shipment tracking, and account management in relevant systems such as AS400 Support sales management efforts through inside sales activities and B2B communication Monitor supply chain activities to identify potential delays or issues and implement corrective actions Assist in developing strategies for efficient customs procedures and compliance standards Collaborate with internal teams on freight planning, documentation, and regulatory requirements Requirements Must have passed CBPE Exam and have experience as a Licensed Customs Broker Proven experience in negotiation, customer relationship management, or supply chain roles Familiarity with freight logistics, account management, B2B sales, and 3PL operations Strong data entry skills with attention to detail; experience using AS400 or similar systems is preferred Knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and compliance standards Excellent communication skills for effective negotiation and customer interaction Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Prior experience in sales management or inside sales is a plus Ability to adapt quickly to new technology platforms and regulatory changes This position offers an engaging opportunity for professionals interested in international trade, logistics, and supply chain management.
