Job summary Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Receiver/Machine Operator is responsible for unloading, sorting, checking, and warehousing inbound freight from suppliers and vendors. Required qualifications and experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous warehouse experience is preferred Working knowledge of PICK (internal system) and location maintenance, utilizing RF system Must be Class 2 MHE Narrow Aisle certified Able to safely operate Narrow Aisle Order Picker and Forklift/Turret trucks Work well under pressure and meet deadlines Working conditions 40 hours per week; occasional overtime required Must wear CSA approved safety footwear with protective steel toes and other personal protective equipment as required Able to perform continuous lifting up to 50lbs Bending, pulling, and stretching required throughout shift Able to work at heights of 20 plus ft on Narrow Aisle Order Picker Job Responsibilities Check for accuracy of container number prior to accepting shipment Make note of any container damage prior to accepting shipment and alert Warehouse Supervisor immediately Efficiently unloads inbound trailers and loads transfer trailers as directed by Warehouse Supervisor Work cohesively in a team-oriented environment Perform High and Mid-Bay location maintenance, using RF system, to meet minimum standards of accuracy Redirecting any returns, packages, and mail that arrive via the receiving doors to the appropriate department or end user Accurately and efficiently putaway orders Prioritize putaway of all back ordered inventory Ensure all locations are maintained with the highest level of safety in mind Perform 3PL picking/load out/putaway Responsible for picking of weekly inventory transfers Keep clear and concise record of 3PL inventory movement Maintain inventory of all receiving supplies (ie tape, shrink wrap, pallets etc) Assist in making arrangements for load outs Communicate with QC, Outbound, and Purchasing on receiving irregularities Maintain a neat and tidy work area (ie receiving floor, outside dock area) Participate in inventory cycle count program Identify and verify quantities, codes, and colours of incoming receivables Check for damaged cases/damaged product at point of receival; sign bill of lading appropriately and clearly, noting damage or shortage Report any discrepancies between packing slips and actual inbound freight to Warehouse Supervisor Optimize storage space through product consolidations Stack wooden pallets, and shipping boxes in a safe and organized manner Assist in configuration of racking for high bay locations Perform daily check on MHE (material handling equipment) Assist QC in sortation of QC products and special customer picks Report any problems with equipment without delay Actively participate in process analysis and improvement activities Adhere to current and future company policies and standards to ensure a safe and agreeable working environment Assist in other areas of the warehouse and additional duties as required by management Working relationships and communications Inform Inventory Control of any case lot deficiencies Participates in general warehouse meetings Work in cooperation and communicate effectively with all levels of the SanMar Canada team Keep co-workers informed of activities that have implications to their departments Openly communicate any successes, concerns or problems related to the job Monday - Friday / 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM / 3 Month Contract
